Today was big. Huge swells came in and kids were surfing in the harbour.
The wind was good too. I had a drops wave board about 85l and a 4.7. I was
a bit scared at first, but after a couple of rests to recuperate got more
confident. Did some massive jumps, bigger than I've ever done before. My
gybes werem a bit dodgy on the outside, but who cares? Gybing on the inside
was easy, you just picked a ramp went downhill, and downwind as far as you
fancied, turned then back over the jumps. Great stuff. The wins kicked big
after 3pm, I saw lots of forwards and even a back loop just in front of me.
I caught a few good waves and cut back a few times OK. These waves come in
over a rock reef and partially break before moving on and further down.
This place is great.
